Ramada Hotel to be renamed Radisson Blu

The Ramada Plaza Doha will be converted to a Radisson Blu in Q3 2012, it was announced yesterday, marking the debut of the Brussels-based Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel companies worldwide.

Radisson Blu is Rezidor’s core brand in the upper upscale market segment - offering contemporary architecture and design, unique signature service concepts and engaging service philosophy ‘Yes I Can!’

“The property will undergo an $18mn renovation and become even more attractive and competitive,” he said.

Gordon MacKenzie, general manager, Ramada Plaza Doha, said: “Although we are slightly sad to be leaving the Ramada family, we feel that joining the Radisson Blu brand will continue to enhance our services and open new avenues for international business. This is an extremely exciting time for us.”

It is one of the largest hotels in Doha and offers 583 modern, spacious rooms and suites in different styles. Food and beverage outlets include six bars and 12 restaurants.

Hope the new owners clean the glass facade unlike the current owners... the view from the Library Bar is amazing... but is completely spoilt by the (so much obvious) uncleaned glass... if you as the staff they say "its the design of the glass"...duh!...

well cant blame the staff... they dont have a choice...

Personally I feel it has the best combination of bars and restaurants... as it has the best mix of a WIDE variety of Bars...

But definitely its time for an upgrade...
