Barwa Village ready for allotment

All the units in the Barwa Village housing project in Wakrah are ready for allotment, says a report published in a local Arabic daily.

Quoting Barwa’s general manager Khalid Abdullah al-Hitmi, the report says that a formal date for allotment to the eligible applicants – nationals as wells expatriates - will be announced very soon.

Located at a site opposite to the Ras Abu Fantas electricity sub-station on the Doha – Wakrah expressway, the project has been implemented on an area of 400sqm of land at a cost of QR1.5bn. It consists of 458 apartments with 2 or 3 bedrooms earmarked for married persons besides 40 studio apartments for single persons. There are also as many as 918 shops and a shopping plaza. It also includes a school complex for which Shantiniketan Indian school has signed a contract with Barwah, says the report.

Two buildings have been reserved for banks, post office and other facilities. As much as 30% of the total area has been earmarked for landscaping and vegetation in order to promote a healthy living environment.

On the whole it will be a show piece of good town planning, says al-Hitmi.
