The first day of Eid Al Fitr will fall on Sunday, September 20, according to Sheikh Salman bin Jabor al Thani, head of the astronomy department at the Qatari Scientific Club.
Sheikh Jabor said in a press a statement today that the Shawwal crescent will be born at 9:44PM on Friday September 18 corresponding to Ramadan 28 and therefore it can not be seen, and can be investigated on the following day Saturday September 19 corresponding to Ramadan 29, where the age of the crescent that day will be 19 hours and 49 minutes and can be seen but with difficulty therefore Sunday September 20 will be the first day of Eid al Fitr, sheikh Jabor added.
