Vehicle inspection to be done at Woqod stations

Woqod has converted its recently merged Qatar Technical Inspection Company into a separate entity with marketing name ‘Fahas’, which will soon be attached to its petrol stations, making vehicle inspection convenient and hassle-free for customers.
Addressing the media, Woqod Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohamed Khalifa Turki al-Sobai said Fahas, which means inspector, will remain independent of Woqod with a separate management.

Woqod had in April merged Qatar Technical Inspection at an agreed share swap ratio of 1:5.3 as arrived at by Ernst and Young, jointly appointed by both the entities.
Woqod had increased its capital base by 5% to QR315mn, to meet the expenses for the merger.

Asked about extending vehicle inspection, a pre-requisite for renewal of registration, outside the (erstwhile) Qatar Technical Inspection’s specified centres, he said Woqod is currently restructuring the merged entity.

“We have already identified two sites in North and South of Doha,” al-Sobai said, adding it would be around Doha initially.
