Top make-up expert to offer training
DOHA: Lebanese celebrity make-up artist Ahmed Koubeissy (pictured) will conduct a four-day make-up course at the Diplomatic Club from April 5.
Koubeissy, the make-up magician behind such famous faces as Fairuz, Najwa Karam, Majida Al Roumi, Ahlam, Nawal Al Tunsia, Madeline Matar, Joumana Mourad, Zeina Fayad and Sulaf Fawakherjy, among others, will teach the fundamentals of good make-up and cover some advanced techniques as the session progresses. The course will have a hands-on approach.
“Make-up is as much science as it is art. No doubt you need artistic flair and a taste for the subject to be a good make-up artist, but you also need to appreciate the principles of light and colour and understand the process of choosing products and techniques for correct application of make-up and care of the skin under different circumstances,” said Koubeissy, who studied cosmetology from universities in Beirut, Canada and the US.
Koubeissy regularly participates in international exhibitions and shows, besides serving an exclusive international clientele from the Arab world as well as the West. Koubeissy is also the first make-up artist from the Middle East to publish a series of books on cosmetology and make-up. His celebrity clients include a long list of actresses, performers and high society ladies including royalty.
Participants in the workshop will receive a certificate after the training.
